Hayward Police Department Presents Citizens' Youth Academyby Ceri Hitchcock-Hodgson
The Hayward Police Department presents the first Citizens' Youth Academy beginning Tuesday, March 1. This nine-session once-a-week training program is designed to provide youth (ages 14 to 18 years old) with the skills to become active and productive members of the Hayward community. The sessions are held Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Southland Mall (One Southland Mall Dr., Hayward) in Conference Room C.
Topics includes gangs and violence awareness, personal safety, teen dating violence, conflict resolution, alcohol and tobacco awareness, traffic laws and drug education. Space is limited.
