Announcing Spring Booklegger Orientation and Training Timesby Gail Orwig
How would you like to have children hanging on your every word? Bring together books, children and libraries through community service? Become a Booklegger and experience the satisfaction of bringing the joys of reading to children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Eight weeks of training at the Fremont Main Library (to be held Tuesday mornings from 9:15 - 11:45 a.m., Feb. 8 through April 5) will introduce volunteers to booktalking, reading aloud and storytelling skills. Regular visits throughout the Fremont Unified School District will follow these meetings.
Orientation meetings for prospective volunteers will be held on Wed., Feb. 2 from 2-3 p.m. and again at 7-8 p.m. You need only attend one of these meetings. Orientation will be held at the Fremont Main Library located at 2400 Stevenson Blvd., Fremont, Conference Room A.
If you can commit three or four hours a week to this award-winning program, please contact the children's desk at the Fremont Main Library (510) 745-1421.
