From Broadway to Branson to Fremont

Renowned Singer to Perform Free Concert

by Ceri Hitchcock-Hodgson

Gregg Busch, Broadway star and Branson, Missouri regular, will be returning to Fremont for an encore performance of his successful Jan. 2004 show. Busch thrilled audiences with last year's performance and has been invited by Fremont residents Lee and Susan Clark to repeat the successful show. Busch is taking a short break from his stint on the Branson Belle Showboat to perform in this free concert for the community.

Busch has performed with such notable entertainers as Yul Brynner (in Broadway's The King and I), the legendary Frank Sinatra and has shared the stage with Richard Harris in Camelot. Other roles include Gaylord Ravenol in Showboat, the title role in Sweeney Todd, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and Prince Danilo in The Merry Widow. He has also performed as a soloist with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein.

Busch has released two CDs: Memories of Broadway, a collection of Broadway favorites and Sculptor of My Heart - A Celebration. These CDs will be available for purchase both nights of the show.

The concert will be held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont. The church features a newly constructed sanctuary designed specifically for enhanced acoustics.

The show is free to the public and a free will offering will be taken.

Gregg Busch at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 38451 Fremont Blvd., Fremont. Sat. and Sun. Jan. 29 & 30 from 7 - 9 p.m. For advanced, preferred seating contact concert organizer Susan Clark at
