Fremont Youth Symphonyby Arathi Satish
Celebrate the true spirit of Christmas this year with Handel's masterwork. The Sing-Along Messiah with the Fremont Youth Symphony and musicians from the Ohlone Chamber Orchestra and the Deo Gloria Choir will perform at the Ohlone Smith Center in Fremont. Singers will include Sharon Xavier de Sousa, soprano; Karen Ulijohn, alto; Carlos Soriano, tenor; and Pius Yoon, bass.
The Fremont Youth Symphony, founded in 1999, offers Tri-City youngsters in elementary through high school a chance to play in different musical groups, from small ensembles to a full symphony orchestra. The Fremont Youth Symphony also offers classes for beginning and intermediate strings: violins, violas, cellos and double bass.
Summer Music camp is a unique chance for students to learn from outstanding professional musicians and fellow students. It is a great opportunity for beginners who would like to try out an instrument and for students of music to improve their knowledge, skill and playing technique. This is an excellent way to gain intensive instruction from professional musicians. The program includes private and group lessons, extensive coaching ensembles and chamber music, student performances and recreational activities.
