Winter Backcountry Travel-Safety and Survival Tips:
7 pm, Tuesday, December 7
How do you get ready for a day out in the snow-by stuffing a jacket and water bottle into your pack as you head out the door? If so, you may be putting your own life-and the lives of others-in unnecessary danger. Tonight, Robert Parkhurst, mountaineering instructor and member of the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol, will teach you how to best prepare for the potential hazards of winter backcountry travel, as he shares the latest information on accident prevention techniques, rescue fundamentals and survival basics.
