An Historic Walk through Irvingtonby Laura Diaz
What were the factors that led to the beginnings of the Irvington District? Why did a community evolve in this particular place, and what visions of the founders are still evident in this particular place, and what visions of the founders are still evident in today's modern community? Ed Pentaleri will address these questions in an educational slide presentation, 'A Historic Walk through Irvington" on October 13, from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Mission San Jose Church, located at 43300 Mission Blvd. in Fremont.
The presentation covers important aspects of our local history from the pre-Mission era through the early 1900's, and features many images drawn from the archives of the Museum of Local History. The presentation includes places and names that will be familiar to residents of Fremont, as well as many less-well known or forgotten connections.
The presentation is free to the public. For additional information, please contact Laura Diaz (510) 657-1797 ext. 103 |
