Dirk Lorenz, President of Fremont Flowers and Gifts, was honored at the Florist's Transworld Delivery (FTD) national convention in Las Vegas as the FTD Marketer of the Year for the United States and Canada. Three thousand of the 26,000 professional FTD florists in North America attended the convention which was hosted by Merlin Olsen, spokesman for FTD, retired professional football player, and commentator for Monday Night Football.

Highly praised for "outstanding achievement in advancing the promotion and sale of floral arrangements on a variety of fronts industry wide", Mr. Lorenz is being recognized for using technology and innovative web sites to promote the consumption of flowers. He was also awarded for supervising such innovative promotional events as Welcome Teacher Day, Good Neighbor Day as well as partnerships with the American Cancer Society on their annual Daffodil Days fundraiser.
