Curves Donates Over $4,200 to Local Schools
During the week of April 12th-16th 2004, fifty-seven (57) new members joined and supported local participating Curves franchises to "Help Our Schools." 100% of their entire service fee was donated to a local school of the new member's choice including Brookvale Elementary, Christian Community School, Niles Elementary, Hillview Crest Elementary, and Mission San Jose High School, just to name a few!
Additionally, local Curves in Fremont, Newark, and Union City recently teamed up with "Cell Cycle LLC" in May 2004 asking Curves members and the local community to donate their old, broken, and unused cellular phones. A total of 83 phones were collected that will be kept out of landfills and recycled instead. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit "Niles Elementary School," in Fremont.
Another very successful recent event included the Curves International, "6th Annual Food for Friends Food Drive," which contributed over 5,000,000 pounds of food internationally. Local Curves members and community collected over 16,000 pounds of food. |
