Tri-Cities Voice Newspaper - What's Happening - Fremont, Union City, Newark California

May 25, 2004 > Flags

Steve Cho is looking for flags from the various cultural backgrounds represented in Fremont to be flown during the 4th of July parade. He is requesting donations of 3 x 5 foot flags (no pole) from any background represented here in Fremont and volunteers to carry them during the parade. Volunteers, be aware that no harness will be provided, and the parade route is .7 miles long. The average cost of a flag is $30, but can range up to $65 depending on the complexity of the design of the flag and its color. In order for Cho to provide the correct number of poles, he is requesting that any flag donations be made by mid-June.

Cho has sent letters to various embassies and has received flags from the following countries: Brunei, Katar, Korea, Taiwan, Afghanistan, South Africa, Philippines, Cambodia, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Denmark, Bahamas, Hungary, Belarus, Vietnam, and Singapore, and he currently has leads to flags from Ireland, England, Mexico, Lebanon, Italy, Portugal, and Germany.
