PRAA Drug Workshop set for May 5
The Fremont Unified School District Parent Representative Advisory Assembly has scheduled a workshop for parents about substance abuse among children and teenagers for May 5 at Washington High School. The workshop has been designed to answer many questions about substance abuse and changes in drug use in recent years, including what drugs are currently popular and how parents can recognize and confront drug use among their own children.
The workshop will be presented by John Vigallon, the executive director of Help Educate Loving Parents (HELP) from 7-9 p.m. in the WHS cafeteria, 38442 Fremont Boulevard. Mr. Vigallon is a consultant for FUSD and the Fremont Police Department who is nationally recognized as an expert presenter on teen substance abuse. It is the second in a planned series of three workshops for parents on gangs, drugs, and the curriculum being adopted in FUSD schools to help parents and students resist involvement in either.
Further information about the workshops is available at 659-2594.
