Local Resident, Garrett Yee, Assumes Command of 3-356th Logistic Support Battalion
Command of a proud U.S. Army (Reserve) unit, tasked with logistics operations to support pre-mobilization collective training by 3rd Brigade, 91st Division elements was assumed by Maj. Garrett S. Yee on April 9, 2004 in a ceremony at Fort Hunter Liggett, Jolon, California. The unit originally formed August 27, 1917 at Camp Funston, Kansas.
Major Yee is the recipient of three Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medal, two National Defense Service Medals and the parachutist badge. Currently, Garrett is a manager with the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau in San Francisco, a Past President of the Citizens for a Better Community and currently serves as a Trustee of the Ohlone College Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Maria, reside in Fremont with their three children, Gilbert, Michael and Alissa. |
