Dyno DragsDrag Racing Is Back In Fremont!! by Arathi Satish
Good news for motorcycle enthusiasts. Even though the tracks are gone, drag racing is still here. The Teresi Dyno-Drags, a self -contained, mobile, interactive attraction will be at Cycle Center of Fremont, from April 16th through April 18th. The Teresi Dyno Drags will take "interactive" to another level, allowing participants to compete head-to- head with their own bike under real racing conditions. None of the inherent dangers of the racetrack will be faced here. This is a unique way to experience heart and ear-pounding fun.
In a safe and stationary environment, using a pair of Dyno-Jet motorcycle "dynos," Christmas tree starting lights and computerized timing systems, riders will be able to test the speed of their bikes. The riders and their bikes are elevated by the hydraulic lift gate onto the custom-built Dyno-Drag semi-trailer, where they proceed under the timing stand to the "burn-out" area. Then the rear tire is warmed up and the rider moves up to the "starting line" where the bike is positioned on the dyno roller and secured in place.
The rider looks down a simulated track. Then, with engines revving and the "Christmas Tree" flashing lights leading to green and go, the riders accelerate their bikes side by side through the 1/4 -mile stretch, experiencing the feel of a real drag strip. Dyno runs are free of cost and each participant, depending on those waiting in line, may race three runs. The electronic scoreboard displays top speed and elapsed time for each lane. As every run is also a dyno-pull, each competitor gets a horsepower and torque print out.
The Teresi Dyno-Drag is a self-contained, mobile inter-active attraction that can be set up in all weather conditions, either indoors in a stadium or outdoors in a parking lot. Over 40 events have been planned this year and more than 3.5 million motorcycle enthusiasts will be reached. It will be a fun event for all, even those who just stop by for peek at the action. The response has been positive according to Jill Ellwanger of Cycle Center of Fremont.
Racing is scheduled for:
