Parents of children entering kindergarten this fall who would like their children to become bilingual in elementary school are invited to a Spanish-English dual language program orientation meeting March 15 at the Fremont Main Library, 2400 Stevenson Boulevard. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Fukaya Room B.

The dual language program is offered in selected Fremont Unified School District elementary schools through the FUSD Office of Federal and State Projects. Program organizer Maria Cardenas said students who become bilingual enjoy a number of advantages, including a greater understanding of other cultures, academic enrichment and enhanced employability.
